Assam Rifles rescues stranded Meitei villagers, provides medical aid along Indo-Myanmar border

The Assam Rifles successfully evacuated eight Meitei villagers who were stranded at Kwatha village, while working on a fencing task for the Border Roads Organisation.

The evacuation took place on Thursday, as the villagers were safely transported to Pallel with the assistance of their respective Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

In addition to the rescue operation, Assam Rifles also played an active role in supporting the displaced people of H Khunou, a border village. Essential items, including generic medicines, were distributed to assist the affected individuals. The team from Assam Rifles interacted with the displaced people, uplifting their spirits and fostering confidence to deal with the challenging circumstances they faced, as mentioned by the PRO.

Furthermore, Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Gangpijang village, located along the Indo-Myanmar border where a total of 79 individuals, including 17 children, underwent screening, and essential medicines were provided to them free of cost.
