An official source has reported that a commander-level meeting between the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and its counterpart, the Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG), was conducted on Monday.

According to a report, the virtual meeting, conducted in accordance with the memorandum of understanding (MoU) and standard operating procedure signed between the two countries’ coast guards in 2015 and 2017, respectively, focused on maritime concerns. Notable topics included raising awareness among fishermen about cross-border fishing, sharing information, and enhancing capabilities.

The co-chaired meeting featured Inspector General Iqbal Singh Chauhan, Commander of the Northeast division of the ICG, and Captain Mohammad Kibria Haq, Commander of the West Zone of the BCG.
