BSF Meghalaya Seizes Indian and Bangladesh Currencies Near International Border

On 24th February 2023, BSF Meghalaya confiscated both Indian and Bangladesh currencies in two separate operations near the International Border of East Khasi Hills district, Meghalaya.

During the first operation, the deployed troops of 04 Bn BSF Meghalaya observed suspicious movements on both sides of the border fence in Nayabazar. Upon being challenged by BSF, the miscreants managed to flee, taking advantage of the darkness, thick vegetation, and undulating ground. However, upon searching the area, BSF recovered a bag containing 18 Lakh Bangladesh Taka.

In a similar incident, the troops of 110 Bn BSF in Ryngku area of East Khasi Hills also foiled an attempt by miscreants to smuggle Indian currency across the border and seized Rs 3.12 Lakh in cash.
