On January 31st, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, stated during a public meeting in Kra-Daadi district’s Gangte that the country is fortunate to have a Prime Minister like Narendra Modi. He acknowledged PM Modi’s strong connection with the North East and Arunachal Pradesh, crediting it for the unprecedented development seen in the region over the past eight years. During his two-day tour of various districts in the state, Chief Minister Khandu inaugurated various development projects and visited Gangte in Kra Daadi district on the second day of his trip.

Khandu emphasised that until a few years ago, Gangte circle headquarters was inaccessible by road, but thanks to the local legislator Balo Raja and Prime Minister’s support, the area is now accessible by road. He assured that all unconnected villages will either be connected through the PMGSY program or the state government’s Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Road Network program. While visiting the Gangte view point, Khandu saw potential for the area to become a tourist attraction and said he will prioritise the matter, suggesting that a competent and reputable consultant be hired to plan the project. He also addressed the old Pha bridge connecting Gangte circle with Kamle district, pledging funds for the construction of a permanent RCC bridge. The Chief Minister expressed concern over the outdated quarters and building of the Government Middle School in Gangte and promised to sanction funds for new infrastructure within the next month. On the same day, Khandu inaugurated the Rai Balo Model village, the Circle Office, government quarters, and laid the foundation stone for an inspection bungalow. He was accompanied by Home Minister Bamang Felix, MLAs Balo Raja, Jikke Tako, Chow Zignu Namchoom, Phurpa Tsering and district administration officials.

Khandu also laid the foundation stones for various projects being carried out by various departments, including the PWD, RWD, Power department, PHE &WS, and UD & Housing, at the district headquarters of Kra-Daadi district in Palin. He gave a sanction order worth Rs 8 crore to the deputy commissioner to address the damage caused by a cloudburst in the Yangte, Tali, and Pipsorang circles on September 28th, 2022.

The Chief Minister also presented a cheque worth Rs 2,47,42,800 as a loan to 123 Self Help Groups (SHGs) in the district and praised the bank-reach-out campaign by SBI and Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) for their loan support during a recent mega credit camp.
