In a swift and coordinated operation lasting just 25 minutes, Indian defence forces launched a barrage of 24 missiles targeting nine terror installations across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The precision strikes, executed between 1:05 AM and 1:30 AM on May 7, were part of a tri-service military campaign code-named Operation Sindoor, involving the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Addressing the media in New Delhi, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri—joined by Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh—described the mission as a ā€œcalibrated and justifiedā€ retaliation to the deadly April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. That attack, allegedly orchestrated by Pakistan-based militant outfits, had resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, including a citizen of Nepal, and caused injuries toĀ severalĀ others.
