In a recent press release by the Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF), it was announced that a woman was killed by unidentified gunmen on Thursday morning outside a school in Manipur’s Imphal West district.

The incident occurred at Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi, located under the jurisdiction of Lamphel police station. Officials clarified that the woman, identified as Donngaihching by the ITLF, had approached the school premises for an unrelated matter and had no association with the institution.

Donngaihching was known to be mentally challenged and relied on the generosity of locals for her sustenance. In light of the shocking crime, the organisation has called for the implementation of President’s Rule in the state.

“We again urge the central government to relieve the incapable state government and impose President’s Rule immediately,” the ITLF said in a statement on Thursday.
